Nourishing Baja California Sur with Food and Love
At BAMX Sudcaliforniano, our commitment extends beyond eradicating hunger and malnutrition in Baja California Sur. We focus on nurturing regenerative dialogues within the communities we serve, laying the groundwork for them to transform their circumstances.
We use food – the ultimate connector – to nurture community networks that enable local leaders to overcome their own challenges. This integrated approach addresses key issues, fostering holistic and regenerative empowerment.
BAMX Sudcaliforniano recovers and distributes 900,000 lbs of food a year, directly contributing to the nutrition and well-being of 5,000 people a month. This is possible thanks to our extensive network of collaborators and donors.

The Struggle for Food Sovereignty for Everyone
While 190,000 people struggle with food access, an astounding 40 million Ibs of food are wasted each month in this region. Most of these people live far from the most prosperous regions with great economic growth. This stark contrast uncovers systemic flaws in our food and social system.
Through our food distribution programs, we provide nutritious meals to families in need. Having access to food is the cornerstone that empowers individuals to start thinking and dedicating time to transformation.
By highlighting and discussing systemic issues and bringing together key stakeholders, we work to collaboratively transform the region's food system, connecting and strengthening the oases that support life for all of us.
Our long-term goal is to achieve a level of abundance in the Baja California Sur food system by strengthening it to the point where its inhabitants have the resources they need to sustain themselves

How We’re Going to Achieve it
At BAMX Sudcaliforniano, we're dedicated to more than just alleviating hunger in Baja California Sur; we're working to ignite the latent strengths within communities for transformative growth from within.
Our vision is to mold this bioregion into a beacon of global prosperity and resilience.
Our strategy revolves around using food as a catalyst for building community networks, enabling residents to confront their own challenges and fostering a cycle of regenerative empowerment.
Central to our mission is the careful recovery and distribution of food.We prioritize the quality and nutritional value of the food we collect and distribute, ensuring it meets the specific needs of those we serve.
This is achieved through meticulous socio-nutritional studies and a deep, personal understanding of our communities. With a robust network of donors, businesses, and volunteers, we focus on minimizing food waste, addressing food insecurity, and enhancing community resilience.
Our two centers in La Paz and Cabo San Lucas form the backbone of this effort, with the South Californian Food Bank redistributing approximately 75,000 lbs of food monthly, enriching the diets of 5,000 individuals.
Collaborating with a variety of organizations and partners, we implement initiatives spanning education, leadership, risk management, health, nutrition, business administration, water management, family economics, and gender issues.
This holistic approach ensures we meet a wide array of community needs, extending well beyond food distribution
