By investing in Agroecology and the local economy, we do more than just promote Agroecological transitions; we support the ecosystems that sustain life in the region. Healthier, locally produced food not only enhances our physical well-being, it puts money into the pockets of the hard-working farmers of the region.
We work with systems change investors that understand the importance of transitioning towards regenerative agriculture. They get that Investing in locally produced food is not just a healthy choice—it's also good business.
We seek a systemic understanding of food security that recognizes the complexity and interdependence of all elements, actors and regions in the food system. We have a greater chance of success if we all collaborate.
Export Wisdom Instead
Rather than exporting water in agricultural products, if we learn to cultivate a healthy food system in the Baja California Sur perhaps we can export something far more valuable to the rest of the world - our wisdom and knowhow.
How We’re Going to Achieve it
In collaboration with local farmers, ranchers, retailers, wholesalers, restaurants, hotels and systems change investors and other allies we are generating systemic change and adopting place-based solutions for an Agroecological transition in the region.
We’re building a powerful team with local and international partners to optimize local supply chains and provide equitable financing and patient capital as well as fostering community participation, knowledge sharing and collaboration through the entire food chain.
Working with our partners we’re seeking durable solutions for access to water, seeds and arable land for those that share our vision.
Our long-term goal is to open up new pathways for a regenerative food and agriculture system in Baja California Sur that benefits local farmers, ranchers, consumers and ecosystems for generations to come.
Showcasing our collective achievements in the desert of Baja California Sur will point the way for others in a world grappling with desertification as one of the consequences of climate change.
