Micheline es profesora investigadora de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur, México y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores desde 1992. Es doctora en Historia por la Vejez de París. Autora y editora de 17 libros. De más de 100 artículos en revistas indexadas y capítulos de libros.

Es fundadora y líder de la Red Interdisciplinaria para el Desarrollo Integral y Sustentable de los Sudcalifornianos y del Grupo de investigación Historia Ambiental del Golfo de California. Ha colaborado con el Gobierno y con organizaciones de la sociedad civil en procesos de planeación y conservación

Y sin duda es la experta en todo temas que gira alrededor de la obesidad en Baja California Sur.
